Having just gotten off the plane from London, we can share what is hot for travel within London Heathrow and other London locations. Wait: is there anything “hot” in London in January?
1) Rolling luggage that is smaller than US standards – If you are looking to have carry on only and skip the check in, don’t forget that the carry on luggage standards can be different than in the US. Typically in the US, luggage can be 22″ tall. In some airlines in Europe, it is 20″.
2) The color grey is in – We saw this in dresses, shoes, tights, and of course, bags. While London is rather grey in January anyway, this refers to clothes. It’s a sophisticated twist on black but still a neutral and timeless color.
3) Knomo laptop bags – On the Tube and walking the streets, Knomo popped up quite a bit as the brand that the fashionable and professional women were carrying. It’s likely safe to say part of the reason Knomo is so popular is that it is a British brand.
4) Longer puffy jackets – For those of you who remember puffy jackets from the 80′s, we’re in a new era where puffy jackets are not just for athletes. Longer styles (laying somewhere below the hip) and cinched at the waste with a belt. These are reminiscent of what we are seeing on the ski slopes in the US, but with more styling and dress up appeal.

The tropical colors of summer are long gone, and fall is here with its vibrant colors. Given that it snowed in October in parts of the U.S. this year (yes, we said October), fall will also be gone soon enough. That doesn’t mean that the dark days of winter limit style to dark colors. Even if your fall and winter wardrobe skew toward neturals and blacks, there can always be a splash of color in an accessory to keep that bright, summertime mood alive.
Laptop sleeves – You can tuck them away so that the bright colors only pop when you want them to. Take your tablet or laptop from your bag, and dreamy memories of the tropics are possible with patterns like Designer Sleeves butterflies, waves or paradise beach. Golla’s sleeves come in vibrant colors, like red with flowers.
Wallets – Maybe you are not daring enough to break away from the basic black purse, but anyone can pull off a bright colored wallet. Alicia Klein wallets offer juicy colors with fun names like citrus and pink cadillac.
Patterned luggage – You won’t forget what it is like to take that summer voyage when you choose a piece of luggage that is suitable for any cruise or summer vacation. One of our all time favorite collections is Britto Collection by Heys. These hard sided laptop bags and wheeled luggage pop from site in any terminal with fun patterns like butterfly, flowers, and landscape.
Kolobags Giveaway Opportunity: A winner will be picked at random and announced on the Kolobags Facebook page. All you need to do is answer the following question in the comments section of this posting on Kolotalk:
What is the most tropical place you can see yourself with this fabulous tropical laptop sleeve?
Each person receives a bonus entry for Sharing on Facebook or re-tweeting about the contest. (Limit one of each entry type per person. Entries must be received by November 19th 11p Pacific Standard Time to qualify for drawing. Winner’s name will be published on Kolobags’ Facebook page on November 21, 2011.)

The summer season ignites pleasure, relaxation and rejuvenation for almost everyone! However, fun in the sun, quickly starts to fade around the month of August and for most under the age of 22, it’s back to school. The finish of the favored season for most East coasters, sparks the fashion flame in the minds of students and faculty, questioning: “what will I be wearing for my back to school backpack?”
Some take the topic more serious than others but, I remember that feeling of going back to school after well deserved summer break. Dusting off a Kipling backpack (anything less was not even an option) and taking on what obstacles would be coming our way. Speaking of backpacks, there are a few new designer débuts that have stirred our emotions and awakened our feelings of motivation and eagerness to learn.
One of our favorites is the isis Bobo laptop backpack, that will not only hold your academic accessories but it will also fit your computer in its luxurious laptop compartment. Bobo is downright affordable (under $20) and filled with pockets for all your daily frills. Perky and purple, this bag is cool from pre K-all the way!
From reality to retail…Project Runway winner Chloe Dao, unveiled an amazing mini back to school backpack. For all the stylish students, craving a bit of class during class, this is just the bag for you. The decked daypack comes designed in Chloe’s exclusive print and plenty of interior pockets for all your personals. While it doesn’t hold a ton, Chloe Dao has created the perfect mini backpack by incorporation fashion and function.
Pretty in pink: Ful Brickhouse sling backpack is perfect for the gal who is always on the go. The hands free style will alleviate your hands, so they are available for “books” (or boys) and all other scholarly accouterments. Padded pockets allow plenty of space for your purse and personals. This laptop backpack is fun, functional and most importantly, fashionable.
These back to school bags make me feel like a fresh faced young teen, bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to absorb all I can. Time to sharpen our pencils, refresh our outlook and remind us to work (and play) hard. Time to do some back to school shopping.

Work, life and bags are the building blocks behind the Urban Junket brand. And, seeing is believing because we are now justified junkies for Urban Junket bags.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Tracy Dyer, founded a business balancing function and fashion. Tracy, like so many of us, believes that these two components are crucial to creating a carryall and one should not have to be sacrificed for each other. Keeping the collection inventive and interesting, Tracy combines quality materials and supplies collected from traveling all over the world. In a result, the Urban Junket brand is hip, eclectic, stylish and just perfect for your daily journeys. All of their beautiful bags are bold, big and full of pockets, perfect to handle anything coming your way.
Tracy and her partners are the total package: philanthropic, family oriented and fabulous fashionistas (so, we can all feel good buying their bags). Keeping true to their roots, each girl has named a handbag after their mothers. For women of all ages, students, professionals, baby boomers and busy working woman, Urban Junket purses will keep you prepared and organized.
The t.o.t.e. collection has been a top seller with the eco-friendly fashion craze. t.o.t.e. (to observe the earth) bags are made of coated canvas and RPET (a nylon-type material made from recycled plastic bottles). Both materials are very durable and require no maintenance. The exterior and interior can be wiped down with water should anything be spilled on them.
From top to bottom, Tracy and the Urban Junket team, combine function and fashion to keep their loyal and loving customers always coming back for more. Urban junket is the ultimate understated accessory.

There is Burberry, Gucci, Coach, and now, Boconi. By mixing European style with good o’le American functionality, Boconi bags and leather accessories are on the retail rise.
Boconi bags are best known for their timeless style, rich Italian leather, unique prints, and on top of it all, a wicked sense of humor. Such can be seen in the selective use of print work, by naming their fun and funky designs, such as “plaid-about-you.” There is no question that Boconi is the next “it” classic American designer. Boconi has decades of rustic experience under their thick and gorgeous leather skins and this is definitely just the beginning.
Their creative and hardworking team is composed of dedicated professionals who are all passionate about one thing: providing exceptional and durable products designed from the finest fashion materials. Every Boconi bag, wallet and accessory has been tested and toyed until it is retail ready.
The manufacturing mission (listen up!) is to ensure their buyers “are looking good doing what you do” by producing understated style and quality all the while keeping you organized and put together. (Boy, do we know a few people that should be buying bags by Boconi.) From their sleek clutches and iPad cases to their masculine wallets and messengers, Boconi bags are worth the (not so expensive) buy.
With minimal bells and whistles, Boconi has taken the most pure and simple materials and added useful pockets and key rings to make your life smoother and simpler while on the go.

Once upon a fashion fairytale…New Orleans manufacturer Kalencom is overjoyed and excited to team up with renowned fabric and pattern designer Amy Butler. And boy, should they be!
If you haven’t yet heard of Amy Butler, it is our pleasure to introduce you. On the surface Amy Butler, is best known for her unique and quirky Midwest modern style. But really, she is far more interesting.
When she started her boasting business in the later 1980′s, Amy Butler designed handbags and accessories out of fabrics that she enjoyed collecting on her worldly travels. Her latest collection, which caught my eye, is designed from a fresh approach to botanical, geometric and romantic inspiration. Her choice of patterns and colors are very different, detailed and definitely a fresh look to the market. Her take on color, stitching, overall style, radiates from all her funky and fashion forward products.
Her love of fashion and passion for life and nature was always and continuously is reflected in her purses designs. Her eclectic prints and patterns inspired not only Amy herself but several other artists and stylists. And so, Amy knew she was onto something…
Each Amy Butler bag or accessory bought from is like taking a firsthand look into the life and travels of Amy Butler. Her latest take on material is fabricating handbags composed of eco-friendly materials, including: lifestyle fashionable bags, totes, small luggage, wheeled carry-on, duffel, diaper bags, lingerie envelopes, laptop bag, laptop bags, and complimenting accessories designed by Amy Butler herself.
Whether you’re vacationing, at work or heading to the local store, the Amy Butler bags are surely going to make a funky and fashionable statement about your signature style.

Trend Alert: Whites, for summer… not much of a shocker. However, as each spring season turns the corner to summer, there is no color superior to the highly anticipated summer white. We properly prepare my wardrobe for the warm weather; we lay out all my eyelet, straw, summer stripes and crisp whites. We ponder, prep and plan; just as, Memorial day finally arrives we are perfectly ready. So now, we sit her in my seersucker shorts and crisp white tank, and although we should be frolicking in the sand and enjoying my seasonal straw, we find ourselves surfing the sites and stores searching for more summer bags.
Here are a few of our favorite bags to bear the heat and hit the street:
Sumdex mini notebook case fits more than just a notebook. Initially designed to be a computer case, this bag (or what we like to call, lady purse) is far too fashionable just to be designated to the computer and more of the perfect summer season carryall. This bag has room for all your summer necessities and the computer accessories. The Sumdex mini is fabricated with strong water repellent fabric (great for the beach), adjustable straps and not too feminine, this is the perfect bag to buy for both you and your other half.
Jane Marvel makes bags to marvel over. Our second favorite wonderful white would have to be the amazing messenger bag from Jane Marvel. Fabulous, fun and functional are the fundamentals behind this marvelous messenger. From beautiful beaches to picnics in the park, and so much more, with this bag you don’t have to worry where you wear. Created from clean coated canvas, this bag can resist almost anything. Padded with pockets and hands free availability, we are convinced the Jane Marvel messenger is a summer season must have.
From business to the beach, Nunzia has designed the perfect summer pick me up. Our eyes have fall in love with the new Annabella laptop tote from Nunzia. Not only is this bag perfect for the vacationing summer fashionista, it was built for the serious (and stylish) business woman. We love that Nunzia works with synthetic light weight leather and nylon because who wants to carry a heavy handbag in the heat? With extra-large pockets, for files, food and most importantly fashion, you are fully prepared for whatever and wherever you summer day takes you. Although the white is what caught our eye, the Nunzia Annabella tote must me mind in the additional two colors, red and black, fabulous for fall.
White bags will never be out of fashion… As long as there is summer, designers will be making seriously stylish white handbags.

Being a New York native and a fashion industry veteran, one of our bloggers was especially interested in designers that are big apple bred. She was thrilled to come across BJX bags. This accessory company captures the essence of the fast paced, high pressure, promiscuous New York City lifestyle that we’ve come to love.
BJX bases their booming business on principals that should be in the fashion designer handbook (as if there was one…). Innovation, organization, efficiency, fashion and color are at their core. Their laptop cases, brief cases, camera cases and bags are chic enough for a savvy New Yorker and fashioned for the person on the go. Keeping true to the city that never sleeps, each BJX designer bag and accessory not only look the part but are fully equipped with all daily needs, cost efficient and light weight. Our favorite featrues include the specialty pockets that line the inside for metro cards, cellphones and most importantly lip gloss.
Another amazing aspect to this company is most of their goods feature Vegan “leather” as the preferred fabric to most of their awesome accessories. It doesn’t matter if you are uptown, downtown or all around, BJX is perfect for a day and night in the city. Available in a clean and crisp array of white, black and smoke, their styles fit any urban styled wardrobe. They are sophisticated enough for any adult, but contemporary enough that any college co-ed would be happy to have one on campus. No matter what city you are in, Los Angeles to Florida, coast to coast, BJX is on trend. From kindles to sunglasses, skateboards and cameras, BJX bags will seamlessly are about fitting as much of your lifestyle into one bag as possible.

We are so over boring backpacks, solids colors and simple lines. Our desire for design paved the path for us to come across the NokHoo laptop bag collection. We quickly learned that NokHoo is the Thai word for owl and because owls are both handsome and wise, it seemed like the perfect name for these bags and bags they are! We like to call them the big girl’s beautiful back pack. Each bag is sculpted to shape a classic back pack, carrying case and computer bag; however, this gear is anything but. With their whimsical design, wonderful styles and witty colors NokHoo is our buyer’s new handbag crush.
The brain behind this bodacious bag collection is Nicole Roberts, who spent the beginning of her career working as a textile and product designer in the fast paced fashion industry. It wasn’t until living in Thailand and the purchase of a new computer (and lack of computer case) was NokHoo born. Always engrossed with an interesting item, our buyer had to get her sticky hands on something and she carefully selected the Deloverly laptop tote. In her mind, when birds and butterflies flirt with hand embroidery and beading, she must be a part of it. But all NokHoo bags are inspired from something unique and different. The Raining Paradise laptop backpack is another favorite and carefully designed to mirror the handsome paintings of distinguished artist Gustav Klimt.
We have never seen such a lady like and unique computer backpack. NokHoo accessories are manufactured with unique textured fabric and smart design. NokHoo bags are well-made, comfortable and entirely padded to protect both your laptop and your back, a favorite feature for any tiny frame. With pretty trim and rich embroidery, pockets and pouches, Nokhoo is more than just amazing accessories…it is actually art.
