Winter Fashion Trends: Kolobags Walks Intermezzo (Part II)

September 8th, 2011 by

Do we love polka dots! We thought we were going mad but to our admiration, this season designers are going dotty and seeing spotty. At the Intermezzo, designers debuted a wide variety of dots, spots, circles and rounds all around. They were big, small and came in many colorful varieties but we have a feeling this fall we will be sporting a seriously amount of spots and dots.

Another trend that stormed the Intermezzo (literally) was the reinvention, yet again, of amazing animal prints. The funky designers were featuring a true animal instant with the varieties of fall colored feathers and fringes. There were pretty panthers and a wicked amount of wild wolves and luxurious lions that lay on fabrics at so many of the booths. In the industry, animal print has a great reputation. Branded as best seller it transforms women to feel sexy and seductive, so it only makes sense that fabulous dashing Dalmatians and cool felines were caught casually hanging in the Intermezzo halls.

Crochet all the way! From handbags and to hats and hanging from hangars, fashion was found in the most beautiful hand crafted fabrics. Light, airy and amazing, we just needed to touch the beautiful bold textures. From thick to thin and winter to fall, fashion was all wrapped up, cozy and comfortably in crochet.

Although you were not there, we hope this forecast facilitates you to feel as if you were a fly on the very fashionable walls of one of New York’s most tremendous trade shows. This industry never fails to keep me coming back from more. From fur, feline prints, and even the forties fashion is definitely at its most fabulous.

Winter Fashion Trends: Kolobags Walks Intermezzo (Part I)

It is hard to believe but another amazing August trade show has ticked by! From fall to winter 2011, then spring 2012 (yes it is hard to imagine) our scouting team has been through a superb seasonal slide show. The August New York City Intermezzo trade show was a fashion feast for the eyes and quite inspiring.

Every year around this time, as autumn is around the bend, we feel passionate and proud to be a part of this incredible industry. We are sad to say goodbye to summer sundresses and can’t fathom that fall is on the brink and that it is time to break out fall frocks. Before we know it, we will be wearing winter white and there is only one thought in mind. What will we be buying? Here is a glimpse into the world of wholesale and to some of our favorite trends that took us me by amazement. (Delightfully!)

Menswear for women was a titanic trend taking over the booths this show. Tailored, ties and tights are totally on par for fall and winter. Nothing looked as rich and ravishing as this tailor-made trend and couldn’t be more opposite then the past seasons, soft summer chiffon. Men used as the inspiration for women (hmmm) is a new and unique look but, it seems like many designers looked to boys wear for building their gorgeous and surprisingly girly collections.

Our second favorite and most exciting trend is the mixing pot of patterns that painted the Intermezzo. Many combinations of sparkling sequins with fake fur was seen blended with brassy toned tweeds and luxurious leathers. Warm wool was peculiarly paired with rubber and grey toned goat hair assorted next to minks. Fresh flowing fox hair was perfectly pared with bits and parts of plastics. Overall this trend has transformed a dreary fall palate to a bright and beautiful fashion phenomenon.

We all know this may not be considered the golden age for our country and we believe the designers are expressing a bit of subliminal nostalgia. (If we dress differently, things will recess in the right direction, right?) Polished styles from the sexy sixties and fashion from the fabulous forties are nothing from the past. All over the show we am proud and excited to say we saw signs of classic styles from good ole Americana.
