Sometimes when you travel, you need the toughest luggage available. Whether it is for your expensive camera equipment, for diving, or for your technical gear, you want something lightweight, possibly watertight, as well as indestructible.
There are two main brands that provide this tough luggage for seasoned travelers. Rimowa luggage spans a wide range of products, from laptop cases (wheeled) to four-wheeled suitcases. They are composed of nearly indestructible polycarbonate cases, are super lightweight, and come in a wide variety of unique colors. They are perfect for seasoned and frequent travelers. Rimowa was founded in Cologne, Germany, in 1898 – and is well known to traveling celebrities and elite travelers alike. Must be the German engineering that has ensured its success.
Nanuk luggage is more for your technical gear – Nanuk cases are lightweight, watertight, virtually indestructable. They work in all kinds of extreme elements, and are manufactured to military specifications. Nanuk briefcases have a variety of foam inserts available for your needs, including cameras, laptops, and other technical gear.

The summer season ignites pleasure, relaxation and rejuvenation for almost everyone! However, fun in the sun, quickly starts to fade around the month of August and for most under the age of 22, it’s back to school. The finish of the favored season for most East coasters, sparks the fashion flame in the minds of students and faculty, questioning: “what will I be wearing for my back to school backpack?”
Some take the topic more serious than others but, I remember that feeling of going back to school after well deserved summer break. Dusting off a Kipling backpack (anything less was not even an option) and taking on what obstacles would be coming our way. Speaking of backpacks, there are a few new designer débuts that have stirred our emotions and awakened our feelings of motivation and eagerness to learn.
One of our favorites is the isis Bobo laptop backpack, that will not only hold your academic accessories but it will also fit your computer in its luxurious laptop compartment. Bobo is downright affordable (under $20) and filled with pockets for all your daily frills. Perky and purple, this bag is cool from pre K-all the way!
From reality to retail…Project Runway winner Chloe Dao, unveiled an amazing mini back to school backpack. For all the stylish students, craving a bit of class during class, this is just the bag for you. The decked daypack comes designed in Chloe’s exclusive print and plenty of interior pockets for all your personals. While it doesn’t hold a ton, Chloe Dao has created the perfect mini backpack by incorporation fashion and function.
Pretty in pink: Ful Brickhouse sling backpack is perfect for the gal who is always on the go. The hands free style will alleviate your hands, so they are available for “books” (or boys) and all other scholarly accouterments. Padded pockets allow plenty of space for your purse and personals. This laptop backpack is fun, functional and most importantly, fashionable.
These back to school bags make me feel like a fresh faced young teen, bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to absorb all I can. Time to sharpen our pencils, refresh our outlook and remind us to work (and play) hard. Time to do some back to school shopping.

Although I like to think of myself as, one of the most fashionable people I know (and I’m a New Yorker) I have to admit I have experienced a few moments (although it is hard for me to admit) that result in hanging up my trendy handbags up on the shelf and taking out something that is a bit “less then.”
Stylish luggage comes in all shapes and sizes. It comes with wheels, handles, straps, pockets and pulls, but, the issue I have identified with luggage is that much of it has no sense of style. Unless you are one of the lucky ones to lug luggage branded by the French house of Vuitton, Gucci or Goyard, you could be sadly strolling something similar to me, and it is nothing pretty!
Luckily by means of Kolobags.com, I am enlightened and in love with these luxurious luggage labels that are elegant and available. Like Luggage, duffel with dots is definitely my kind of bag. Decorated in the most dainty design, I will stylishly strut threw the crowded airport alleys. Like duffel bag is big enough for all my vacation requirements and plenty of pockets for some new possessions. (What would a vacation be without shopping?) The most exciting aspect is I will always be able to find my fashionable belongings. At the baggage claim, my Like luggage will be easy to spot in the sea of boring black bags.
Just an ordinary bag? You must not have seen the jane marvel weekender. Lions and tigers and zebras Oh my! Printed canvas has never been so exciting! This duffle is the perfect size for a one night stay or a stylish carry on. Featuring multiple pockets, a fully lined interior and a stable and protective bottom, this tote can be taken anywhere.
For the fashionista (like myself) in the fast lane (me sometimes), mellow world’s charmer luggage is so on trend. Designed of faux leather snake skin, (cheers to the vegans out there), style is the main ingredient for this suitcase. Bringing this baggage tells other travelers, you are fabulous, maybe famous and definitely in first class. Not only is this bag the perfect pint for all travel but totally worthy of taking a trip.
With a new chic carry on, a trendy overnight bag and a sturdy suitcase, my bags are perfectly packed. I can just hear it now, “ TERMINAL 11 is NOW BOARDING…NEXT STOP????”

When you hear the word backpack, do you automatically think of school? And secondarily, those huge tall framed backpacks that hikers all over the world seem to pack ALL of their worldly belongings into?
Take another look at backpacks - they are fashionable, easy to carry, and extremely efficient for your travels. Most backpacks now are also structured for laptops – since we always need to be connected! When our family travels, we all take a backpack. It’s an easy carryon, can be stuffed full, and can double as a footrest (in the car, or on the plane). It can then morph into a day pack for easy day jaunts out and about – or as a lunch basket, for impromptu picnics. For those of you (you know who you are) that eschew checked bags, a backpack is the ideal single carryon – it can fit all of your necessities for that weekend in Ireland.
Here are some favorite backpacks – take a look and see which ones will fit YOUR travel lifestyle:
ful brickhouse sling laptop backpack: This is an alternative to the double strap, traditional backpack. You sling it over one shoulder, for easy ergonomic design. There’s a side-entry pocket for your laptop (or for all of those French cheeses)…There are also plenty of pockets. It’s made of water-repellent ballistic nylon, can switch to either a right or left shoulder sling, and fits laptops with 14″ screens or smaller. I love the big grommet at the top – it makes me smile.
More interested in fashion? The Alicia Klein katie laptop backpack is beautiful. It’s made of black leather, and has both back straps and a double handle. There are two main compartments, and will accommodate up to a 15.4″ laptop. There are also several other pockets, including a travel document pocket. Fashion, travel, and function? This has it in spades.
The Casauri laptop backpack is also a very fashionable choice. It’s extremely well-designed, and I just love it. Made of water-resistant polyester, it’s got the most striking stripes, two back straps, and a single handle on top. It has two front zipper pockets, and fits a 15.4″ laptop.
Need more space? I suggest the Brenthaven expandable trek laptop backpack. It has an amazing amount of storage space, and expands if you need more! There are a variety of pockets, and can fit a 15.4″ laptop. Best of all, it’s got a great design and is very family-friendly.
Need a very cool backpack for your urban traveler? Try the Golla River Laptop Backpack. It sports an extremely cool shape, with a great black on black design. Made of polyester, it can fit a 15.4″ laptop. There are several pockets, and has both back straps and a handle on top.
For your daughter, try the Hadaki Santa Fe laptop backpack. It’s bright, full of amazing color, and makes you happy! There’s lots of pockets and room (theoretically for pockets, but I’d also suggest fun reads, a DS, journals, pens, and plenty of stickers for on-the-go creativity). Fits a 15.4″ laptop.
Just for fun, try the Jane Marvel Sunshine laptop backpack. This one makes me smile! Perfect for picnics or days out on the town, this happy backpack will treasure your 15.4″ laptop, or a huge blanket, thermos, and late night snacks for those evening movies in the park.
If you are commuting and are tired of the messenger bag (or are you really old-school, and using a briefcase?), try the mobile edge Paris slimline laptop backpack. It looks sharp, is ergonomic, fits up to a 16″ screen, and takes business gear to the next level.
Are you one of those travelers that is a Very Active Adventurer? Your travels include mountain biking, marathons, and remote hikes? Here’s a great backpack for you – the pakuma akara k1 laptop backpack. This backpack is packed with so many great features – from a light interior lining so you can see what you’re looking for, to an extremely comfortable design. It has many pockets, can hold your water bottles, and is made from high performance materials. Fits up to a 17″ screen laptop – but are you really going to be working, when you could be playing?

“Any man can be a father; but it takes a special man to be a dad.” – unknown
Father’s day is an extraordinary day (thank you Hallmark) to celebrate the hard working and loving men who do it all just to be called Dad! Some we have to share with others, some are large and tall, and some are tiny and round; however, no matter how big or small we love them all. Fathers come in all shapes and sizes… just like the father’s day gifts; we like to spoil them with. I did some research as per what Dad would like and or needs and we discovered some amazing accessories.
Health is your wealth and we want dad to stay strong and fit, which is why we believe the perfect purchase would be a bag to inspire a work out. This year, my favorite Father’s Day gift is a gym bag. They are lightweight, functional and ready to be filled. Fashion, now fitness…
Cash carrier, money manager, cheddar shredder! Our second favorite gift for Dad is a wallet. Although wallets can be a personal possession to purchase, everyone needs one. Wallets are used every single day and are almost as important as what you put inside of it. Boconi makes studly looking wallets for men, in supple leather. Zeyner has unique designs that are distinctly rugged and biker chic.
Your fantastic father may be the golfer, the traveler or even the stay at home dad, but they all use toiletries and if they are anything like my dad, they are sprawled across the bathroom counter. My last and most useful gift for these gents is a dopp kit.
So, cheers to your friends, family and fathers for a year filled with fashion, health, wealth and lots of great gifts, until next year.

In a person’s life, the significance that a mother can hold is never to be substituted. A mother (biological or not) is there for love, care, protection and even the occasional sacrifice. There are very few people who would be willing to do all those things for you that a mother does. Sometimes we feel like we can’t live with them, but the reality is, we can’t live without them.
Mother’s Day is the most special day to celebrate your mother. It’s the occasion to commemorate the passion, love and joy that she brings to your life. This is the day we honor and admire her and remind her how important she is…and there is no better way than to do it with PRESENTS!
Kroo Usa glove iPad sleeve – Your mother protected you; now help her protect her new baby…her iPad! Kroo Usa produces affordable cases for all of the popular e-readers, like the Kindle and iPad. The cases (or sleeves) are water resistant and bump proof so she can throw it in her already over stuffed bag. The smooth, non-scratch interior lining is shielding and car key proof. These are inexpensive enough to give her two, allowing mom to change colors to reflect her mood.
Ducti Passport Cover – Although we wish we could, treating our mothers with a European vacation is just a bit over budget. So, the next best idea is easy. This Mother’s Day give mom a fashionable passport cover. The silver Ducti cover is fundamental to travelling in style and an accessory she would rarely purchase for herself. This passport cover fits all her essential travel items, including: credit cards, a pen and of course her passport. Who knows, you may inspire her to take that well deserved time off and utilize her new gift.
Pam Am Glasses Case - Well, it’s inevitable, we all get older and so do our eyes. Keep your mother feeling young and hip with this vintage Pam Am eyeglass case. Pan Am cases are not only nostalgic but versatile. They can be used for sunglass or when she is ready, reading glasses (we won’t tell).
College logo laptop sleeve – Currently in college? Treat your proud mama to a laptop case branded with your school. Not only will she be honored to sport your college logo, it is great for bragging to friends. With Centon Electronics’ huge collegiate library, you are bound to find the perfect sleeve.
Kailo Chic handbags Handbags are to woman like sports are to men; there can never be enough. We don’t know a woman, who doesn’t love a new purse. Kailo Chic makes beautiful and lightweight clutch bags, ideal for any mother who is looking for a splash of color (pictured). With enough room for all the essentials – lipstick, keys and a cell phone – these are the perfect size to transform her from day to evening. Kailo Chic is the ultimate summer bag to please your precious mother.
Flowers are beautiful but this year show your mom you care with a Mother’s Day gift that will last forever. (Or, at least until next Mother’s day)

At a loss for what to give this holiday? Tired of ties and socks? Well, so are they. With the amount of time that people spend with their laptop computers, the perfect holiday gift would be a laptop case to protect a laptop and offer a bit of style.
Laptop bags are sold in a very diverse set materials, sizes and colors. For the working gal, the Knomo laptop bags are an ideal choice. The Knomo collection is stylish and sophisticated without being gaudy. Each of their bags has a unique design, but of course, each one includes a padded compartment made specifcally for a laptop or netbook computer. Knomo also has products for men… check out their dapper selection of brief cases and leather laptop bags that are unique enough to be considered a conversation piece.

The “peace sign” netbook and iPad case from Designer Sleeves is fun and colorful — perfect for an expressive teen. It is also an affordable gift at less than $50. And if the peace sign misses the mark, the Designer Sleeves laptop cases come in a wide array of designs, from leopard prints or camoflauge.

There are literally dozens of iPad cases to choose from, and most are extremely affordable. Styles include ones that an iPad just slides into and then there are those like the one from Brenthaven, that has 5 different ways to hold/stand it.

sumdex xposure digital slr camera bag
With so many folks now with their own blogs and YouTube sites, there are also a ton of folks carrying their digital cameras to have on hand for the next big story. We are not talking about camera phones (although those can be useful). We are talking about the next step up, a high-resolution digital camera, whether that be point-and-shoot, video, or SLR.
The super pros have heavy duty equipment bags for their cameras. But for those who want a solid layer of protection possibly with some organizational features, there are some cool camera cases ready to go with you, for the next story or on your next vacation.
For the minimalist who just wants protection for a point-and-shoot camera, try a bright colored neoprene case from a designer like Tucano. Dual zippers open to a compartment for the camera and an inner pocket holds memory cards. An outside loop becomes a hook to another bag so that the case will not be lost. A choice that is even more fashion oriented is the Pan Am mini stow all. While it’s not exclusively a camera case, the bag is perfect for a point-and-shoot camera and will look kitchy with any outfit. The removable wrist strap is ideal for carrying the case like a wristlet.
For the photographer that is carrying more gear and even wants a portable studio, Ogio camera bags and Sumdex camera cases aren’t your ordinary camera cases. The sumdex xposure II digital camera sling pack is a stylish sling that can be worn over either shoulder. The bag can rest standing up or on its back, and won’t be as much of a target for theft, since it isn’t typical for a camera bag. Dual compartments open easy in either position, and open to an assortment of adjustable dividers. The videographer/blogger will love the Ogio ty video backpack. A street smart looking backpack opens to a compartment full of Velcro partitions to hold a video camera and other goods. A separate pocket is padded for up to a 16” laptop, so you can bring your editing studio with you on the road. Added MacGyvor-like perks include a mini keychain flashlight and a foam knee pad.
