Sidewalk Talk: Amy Butler for Kalencom

August 3rd, 2011 by

amy butler diaper bagOnce upon a fashion fairytale…New Orleans manufacturer Kalencom is overjoyed and excited to team up with renowned fabric and pattern designer Amy Butler. And boy, should they be!

If you haven’t yet heard of Amy Butler, it is our pleasure to introduce you. On the surface Amy Butler, is best known for her unique and quirky Midwest modern style. But really, she is far more interesting.

When she started her boasting business in the later 1980′s, Amy Butler designed handbags and accessories out of fabrics that she enjoyed collecting on her worldly travels. Her latest collection, which caught my eye, is designed from a fresh approach to botanical, geometric and romantic inspiration. Her choice of patterns and colors are very different, detailed and definitely a fresh look to the market. Her take on color, stitching, overall style, radiates from all her funky and fashion forward products.

Her love of fashion and passion for life and nature was always and continuously is reflected in her purses designs. Her eclectic prints and patterns inspired not only Amy herself but several other artists and stylists. And so, Amy knew she was onto something…

Each Amy Butler bag or accessory bought from is like taking a firsthand look into the life and travels of Amy Butler. Her latest take on material is fabricating handbags composed of eco-friendly materials, including: lifestyle fashionable bags, totes, small luggage, wheeled carry-on, duffel, diaper bags, lingerie envelopes, laptop bag, laptop bags, and complimenting accessories designed by Amy Butler herself.

Whether you’re vacationing, at work or heading to the local store, the Amy Butler bags are surely going to make a funky and fashionable statement about your signature style.

Spring Mommies Need Stylish Diaper Bags

Soapbox Moppet diaper bagIt used to be that a diaper bag was just as utilitarian as laptop bags used to be. We’re not sure if it’s the influence of brands on all of us or if it’s the large number of women now in the work force, but now the choices are just as diverse as handbags.

It really doesn’t matter what your style is, you can find a diaper bag that fits it. There are totes, messenger bags, and backpacks. Soapbox Bags and Kailo Chic couple these diaper bags styles with adorable patterns like orange circles, Hawaiian floral, and green hexagon. What is extra appealing is the fact that these patterns and colors are fun, but not overstated.

One of our favorite selections is the Amy Michelle gladiola baby bag. It’s appeal is that it is deceptively like a handbag, especially with rich textures like jacquard and faux patent leather. We also don’t want to forget dad. At the expense of sounding sexist, we think it’s safe to say most dads are more likely to favor some of the styles of Kinart, who has diaper backpacks and bags in more unisex colors like red and black.
