Back to School Backpacks

August 15th, 2011 by

The summer season ignites pleasure, relaxation and rejuvenation for almost everyone! However, fun in the sun, quickly starts to fade around the month of August and for most under the age of 22, it’s back to school. The finish of the favored season for most East coasters, sparks the fashion flame in the minds of students and faculty, questioning: “what will I be wearing for my back to school backpack?”

Some take the topic more serious than others but, I remember that feeling of going back to school after well deserved summer break. Dusting off a Kipling backpack (anything less was not even an option) and taking on what obstacles would be coming our way. Speaking of backpacks, there are a few new designer débuts that have stirred our emotions and awakened our feelings of motivation and eagerness to learn.

One of our favorites is the isis Bobo laptop backpack, that will not only hold your academic accessories but it will also fit your computer in its luxurious laptop compartment. Bobo is downright affordable (under $20) and filled with pockets for all your daily frills. Perky and purple, this bag is cool from pre K-all the way!

From reality to retail…Project Runway winner Chloe Dao, unveiled an amazing mini back to school backpack. For all the stylish students, craving a bit of class during class, this is just the bag for you. The decked daypack comes designed in Chloe’s exclusive print and plenty of interior pockets for all your personals. While it doesn’t hold a ton, Chloe Dao has created the perfect mini backpack by incorporation fashion and function.

Pretty in pink: Ful Brickhouse sling backpack is perfect for the gal who is always on the go. The hands free style will alleviate your hands, so they are available for “books” (or boys) and all other scholarly accouterments. Padded pockets allow plenty of space for your purse and personals. This laptop backpack is fun, functional and most importantly, fashionable.

These back to school bags make me feel like a fresh faced young teen, bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to absorb all I can. Time to sharpen our pencils, refresh our outlook and remind us to work (and play) hard. Time to do some back to school shopping.

Cross Body Bags for Hands in the Air Summer Fun

June 28th, 2011 by

pan_am_cross_body_bagSummer for one of our bloggers, Drewe, started with the three wonderful days playing in Disney World. It was warm, whimsical and wonderful. She claims she couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. From the renowned restaurants to roller coaster rides she definitely did Disney right. She was proudly praised for planning the amazing trip but the best move she made had nothing to do with Disney… it had to do with designer bags. Let’s see what she had to say:

I knew I would need to bring a handbag that was amusement park acceptable and I left it up to Kolobags.com to find something that would satisfy. And sure enough, I picked up the perfect bag to pack for summer fun, a cross body bag. Since this is just the beginning of amusement park season, I want to share my favorite hands free bags to bring along to your fun filled park day.

I think Knomo had theme parks in mind when they designed this light lightweight, quilted and water resistant this cross body bag. The long strap and sling makes for some perfect fun in the sun. Knomo’s cross body bag can be worn both as a fashionable handbag or a functional body bag and comes highly recommended for your day in the park.

If color is more your style, then Pan Am Malay bag is your amusement park go to. From walking tours to roller coasters, Pan Am is functional and fabulous. The spacious main pocket can hold quite a bit, including park maps or even your iPod, if that’s how you roll. The front zippered pocket is an additional space to keep items that might need easy access, like your sun block and most importantly your fast pass.

And if you are planning on hitting the water park you are definitely going to need a change of clothes, which I obviously have covered! The fashionable Ful brickhouse sling is ideal for your incredible day at the park. Toss this backpack over your shoulder and go. Fit for anyone’s style with colors like orange, lime green, purple, charcoal grey, pink, and of course, basic black.

Up down and all around, amusement park season is here. Try carrying these handy cross body handbags to keep your arms free and available for all unexpected items (like the premier outlet mall we stumbled on after spending the day Disney).

Cross Body Bags for Laptops

brenthaven sling laptop messenger bagWhether your dreamt of being a bicycle messenger or you just like the style of someone who is touring the streets of a classic city, the cross-body bag may be for you. This style has made a recent comeback within the the technology fashion world, making carrying a laptop easier. The angled position of the bag distributes weight so that it’s easy on the back, meaning longer treks or less visits to the chiropractor. Brands like Brenthaven and Ful have styles that offer padded straps that can comfortably be slung over the shoulder across the back.

While this style of bag is not for everyone, it does offer an added option for the person looking for an option that offers easy mobility and no unnecessary bulk. What we like is the idea that the bulk of the bag is also reduced by streamlining the corners. Cross body bags are not limited to more casual fabrics and designs. Siamod has styles in Italian leather that are more sophisticated and definitely suitable for a business environment.
